Gave As A Present And They Like It – Viper Antivirus Software Review

Great product and great service! I have been a long time user of Norton and it only gets better with each iteration.

With all these performance activities going on, there are no compromises in the performance of the pc. It is a great improvement in comparison to prior NIS products which I have used (2009 and 2010). When NIS was released, I was able to upgrade to it for the last few months of my NIS2010 subscription. It’s nice that Norton will allow you to do that so you have the most current and secure version of Norton.

It cost less for this 1 user/3 PC product than it would have cost us to renew only our Norton Internet Security for one computer online with Norton. This is the way to go if you, like us, have multiple computers that you want to protect.

I’m sure it grabs some resources, but in today’s era of high-powered personal computers, it’s not a problem. I’m glad I bought it. Once you get this software it will let you install on 3 different computers. Haven’t tested 64bit version, but I’m pretty sure it should work the same.

There is virtually no noticeable slow down (I have a gateway NV79 w/ an Icore5 processor, 4GB of DDR3, and windows 7). When my laptop is idle, the antivirus starts running diagnostics since resources are freed up – not when I’m actually trying to get some work or leisure done. When I manually disable the NIS software (just for comparison), my system flies and is back to normal! Obviously, the culprit is Norton Internet Security.

I asked a co-worker and they said they used Norton and it was great. I tried it and was really impressed with it. This is a program that works in tandem with Symantec’s computer to analyze what this program scanned on your computer and they will let you know if files or programs are infected. I ran this file and I’m virus free as far as I can tell, but it is nice to have a software company dedicate a computer to analyze suspicious or virus laden programs. For those who have complained that installing Norton takes away your remaining subscription time for your current Norton product, I fully agree that is unacceptable. I can only assume that the new installation wipes the old installation and therefore resets the subscription to 365 days, regardless of whether you had days remaining on your existing Norton subscription. Essentially, you are buying a new license each year. I skipped NIS one year because I found ZoneAlarm for free after rebates and thought I would give it a try since I had used their fantastic free firewall program for years. I’d highly recommend it, especially over the trash free ware out there :) It’s not expensive (unless you buy direct from Norton), easy to use, light, and fast, what more could you ask for? As it stands, it makes more sense to buy a whole new box rather than renew your old one. It installed simply and easily. It has fully protected my PC for 3 months now and does it without draining resources from my PC, annoying pop up messages, or locking my PC.

I’ve tried several other security suites and the Norton’s ease of use, well known top-of-the-line security, and the great “Amazon” price and delivery gave me the best value for my dollar. When I next purchase I will upgrade to the Norton 360 or equivalent and have a total security and management system all in one.

It offers great protection for the money. Non Carb Foods.
